The US labor movement has experienced a resurgence, with high-profile strikes at UPS (340K Teamsters), the automakers (UAW), and Hollywood (SAG-AFTRA/WGA). Union approval ratings are at multi-decade highs. However, a 500,000+ worker strike is exceptionally large — the last such event was arguably the 1970 postal strike. While labor militancy is rising, the specific threshold of half a million simultaneous strikers would require a mega-union like the Teamsters, SEIU, or a coordinated multi-union action.
