Will the US military draft be reinstated or seriously debated in Congress before 2028?

Military conscription is among the most politically toxic proposals in American politics. Despite recruiting shortfalls across all services, no serious political figure has advocated reinstatement. The all-volunteer force model has deep institutional support, and the political cost of proposing a draft would be career-ending for most legislators. While Selective Service registration continues, activation would require an extreme national emergency scenario that is difficult to envision in the current threat environment.

Resolves YES if a draft reinstatement bill receives a committee vote in the House or Senate, or the President activates Selective Service induction authority, before January 1, 2028.
