The United States holds veto power on the Security Council and has historically blocked ceasefire resolutions during active US military operations (Iraq, Gaza). While France and the UK may push for diplomatic language, the US will almost certainly veto any resolution that constrains its military operations. Russia and China will introduce resolutions for symbolic purposes, but passage requires US acquiescence. The only scenario for YES is a US-supported resolution that frames a ceasefire on American terms.
